Notice of Business Practice

The Alberta Shorthand Reporters Association compiles membership information in accordance with the requirements under the Professional and Occupational Associations Registration Act.  This information is used to contact members via telephone, fax, e-mail, or physical mail delivery to notify them of annual general meetings, seminars and conventions, and other pertinent information regarding the profession. The Alberta Shorthand Reporters Association also provides its membership directory annually in hard copy to all of its current members.  The Alberta Shorthand Reporters Association also provides its membership directory in electronic form (Microsoft Excel) to any of its current members, upon request.

The Alberta Shorthand Reporters Association periodically enters into partnerships with professional entities to promote business between the entities (National Court Reporters Association, insurance companies, investment companies, etc.).  The Alberta Shorthand Reporters Association provides membership information to these entities.  ASRA members may, from time to time, be contacted by these entities for purposes of recruitment or sales.

A member of the Alberta Shorthand Reporters Association may choose what information they wish to provide to the association, and may specify that the information given is only to be used for the purposes of membership record and not distributed to other entities.
