Dear Susan,
I hope spring has finally found you (albeit it’s been a bit rainy in most of Alberta today). I am happy to inform you of a new edition of e-Vade Mecum which is now available for downloading. You can access the newsletter here.
I am SO excited to inform you that our 50th Anniversary Convention is just around the corner (November 7 – 9)! We have been talking about this event now for months, and it’s hard to believe it’s almost here. We have a very exciting program planned, the hotel will be superb (with an incredible room rate), the food will be exquisite and plentiful, and the entertainment will be memorable. The highlight, however will be our special visitors – NCRA President Karen Yates and NCRA Executive Director Mark Golden will be attending our convention and will be hosting a special NCRA Town Hall Meeting in conjunction with our Annual General Meeting.

We need your help in locating former ASRA members, court reporters, colleagues, and friends. Please take a moment and send us any contact information you might have for others by filling out the online form. Spread the word to everyone you know. Encourage them to visit the ASRA website for information and registration. Our goal is to celebrate 50 years of court reporting history in Alberta by reuniting as many friends and colleagues as we can.
If you have any ASRA memorabilia (pictures, scrapbooks, etc.) that you could share with us, please contact Sandra German (sandragerman@asraonline.com).

I HATE SURVEYS!!!
Many organizations use surveys to “take the pulse” of their organization, but it still doesn’t mean that I enjoy filling them out.
In our continued join relationship with the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association and the Realtime Reporting Program at NAIT, I am asking a personal favour of you. Would you please take a few minutes and give us some honest feedback on a few questions we are asking? But voicing your opinion, we hope to better address issues and formulate plans for the future which will keep ASRA as a meaningful, relevant, and successful professional organization.

A-TTEN-SHUN ASRA Members
This is your special invitation to report to CART Boot Camp – Saturday, April 12, 2008 – Red Deer, Alberta.
This will be a fun-filled Boot Camp of training dedicated to CART reporting. ASRA members have asked for more CART training, and we are providing it.
We welcome Cindy Gordon from the Canadian Hard of Hearing Association, and our own Janice Plomp and Sandra German – experts in the field – to give us practical, hands-on information.
