Annual Speed Contest The ASRA Annual Speed Contest is held in conjunction with the annual ASRA Fall Convention.  Contestants challenge one five-minute Jury Charge examination at 240 words per minute and one five-minute Testimony examination at 260 words per minute.  Contestants must score higher than 95 percent on each examination in order to qualify for first or second place.  ASRA Continuing Education credits are granted to contestants who transcribe both examinations.  NCRA Continuing Education CEUs are not awarded for this Speed Contest.  Contestants are required to submit their examination transcripts on a USB thumbdrive in ASCII, PDF, Word, or WordPerfect format.  The Association will arrange for the examinations to be printed.  Contestants do not need to bring a printer but must bring all other equipment necessary for transcribing the examinations, including a powerbar.
